Weekly Adult Art Classes

Welcome to Kings Art Club, where you will find friendly and informative classes in Drawing & Painting allowing you to unlock your inner artist!
Whether you're a complete beginner, or an intermediate, these classes offer a welcoming environment to explore and develop your artistic potential.
Besides being a full time fine artist, I am a fully qualified art teacher with 26 years of experience teaching art in independent senior schools. I have a BA Hons in Illustration and an MA (Dist) in Artist Teacher Practice. In my class you will learn various techniques, from sketching fundamentals to advanced painting skills, all while having fun and connecting with fellow art enthusiasts. Classes are kept small, with a maximum number of 12 students, to ensure that you get lots of one to one attention.

INTERESTED? Here's what you need to know...

WHEN?: Weekly classes run 10am-12pm on Mondays & Thursdays and 7-9 pm on Tuesdays (Term time only).

WHAT?: Over the weeks we will explore approaches to Still-life, Portraiture, Landscape and Abstraction through a wide variety of drawing and painting mediums. You will be introduced to the work of artists as inspiration and taught tips and tricks to improve your skills and create your own beautiful artworks.
 
HOW MUCH?: Classes are £20 per 2 hour lesson which includes materials. Classes are payable in advance in blocks of 6 or 7.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?: Just your enthusiasm and willingness to learn! I will provide the basic materials needed for the lesson. You are, of course welcome to bring your own art kit if you have one or I would recommend purchasing a complete beginners art kit from me.

"COASTAL LANDSCAPE" :Paint a gorgeous, summery coastal scene in acrylics, inspired by the work of contemporary artist LUCY DAVIES..

DATES: Thursday 13th or Monday 17th August 2026.
TIME: 10 am - 4 pm
COST: £85 which includes a full day's tuition, all materials, a 40 x 40 cm canvas and lunch at King's Coffee House.
CONTENT: You'll spend the morning sketching up an underpainting on to your canvas and applying base layers.. Youll then experiment with techniques for your forground. After lunch you will build layers and add detail to complete your stunning coastal view.

"EXPRESSIVE FLOWERS": Paint beautiful florals in acrylics, inspired by the work of contemporary artist ANNA CHER..

DATE: Tuesday 11th August 2026.
TIME: 10 am - 4 pm
COST: £85 which includes a full day's tuition, all materials, a 50 x 50 cm canvas and lunch at King's Coffee House.
CONTENT: Experiment with acrylic colour and acrylic inks to create exciting effects. Discover how to capture flowers in a fresh and expressive manner.. This was a very popular workshop last summer.

Private Lessons

I am available for one to one private art lessons in my studio (or appropriate alternative venue) at £45 per 1.5 hour tuition. Please contact me to discuss your needs.

I also run OIL PAINTING workshops for club members past and present:

'An Introduction to Oil Painting' and 'Landscape Painting with the Zorn Palette.

Both courses are taught in my studio over 3 sessions of 2 hrs within a 10 day period. 1:1 tuition £240, 1:2 tuition £180 pp. (N.B.Some prior painting experience in acrylics is required). Please contact me for further information.
